Katherine Quinn

Kaiwhakahaere | General Manager
Katherine Quinn

Katherine has worked and/or lived in the Coromandel Peninsula-Hauraki District area for the last 19 years. Her professional background is in supporting local government and community organisations and she brings broad experience to the role. Her appreciation for community-led initiatives and heritage conservation started in 2001 when researching a community development initiative in a traditional Balinese village in Indonesia – one where its past remains part of its essence. Since then, she has continued to be involved in working with and supporting local communities and their development and empowerment.

Katherine is particularly keen to see The Treasury become more accessible and relevant to our diverse communities including our rangatahi | youth.

"Nothing happens unless first we dream"
Carl Sandburg

This quote was the opening statement of The Coromandel Heritage Trust’s successful 2013 application to Lottery Environment & Heritage which was the final enabler of the Archive build. Daring to dream is what has created the Archive we see today at The Treasury.
